Figli Luigi Oddero

B.ta Bettolotti, 95 Frazione Santa Maria | La Morra CN

History

The company was born thanks to Luigi Oddero, oenologist and curious man, who was deeply in love with his land: the Langhe. He is a country gentleman, as Mario Soldati defined him in his 1975 interview reported in the book Vino al Vino. He was a charismatic figure, always strained between progress and preservation, attentive to technical innovations but without forgetting his own family history begun in the 19th century by his grandparents, who were already wine producers and merchants.

People

Today, after Luigi’s death, the company is managed by his wife Lena and by his children Maria and Giovanni, whose names are in honour of their grandparents, that are those who began the secular history of the company. Here the tradition becomes continuity, with a thread that binds the beginning of the 19th century, present and future.

Vineyards

The vineyards of Nebbiolo for the production of the Barolo crus are located in three villages of the Langhe: Rive at Santa Maria of La Morra, Rocche dei Rivera at Castiglione Falletto, Scarrone at Castiglione Falletto and Vigna Rionda in Serralunga d’Alba. The other vineyards, Dolcetto, Barbera and Freisa are mainly located in the village of La Morra and Serralunga d’Alba, while Barbaresco comes from the Nebbiolo produced in the vineyards in Treiso.

Wines

The wines produced by the cellar Luigi Oddero are: Barolo Vigna Rionda, Barolo Rocche Rivera, Barolo Specola, Barolo, Barbaresco Rombone, Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo, Langhe Freisa, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe Bianco and Moscato d'Asti.
