San Biagio di Roggero

Loc. San Biagio, 98 La Morra CN | T. +39 0173.50214

History

The historical cellar is located in the old farmhouse building dating back to 1923: under high and narrow vaults, there is a succession of oak barrels of large and medium capacity, in which the Barolo of the different vintages is refined. In 2000, a new cellar was built next to the latter, equipped with a modern vinification area and completely underground rooms, where the wine matures in tonneaux and barriques and refines the wine already in the bottle.

People

The company is family-run, with Giovanni, the owner, as coordinator. Today he is supported by his three children: Davide, agro-technician, manages and takes care of the processing and phytosanitary controls of the vineyards; Gianluca, oenologist, takes care of all the winemaking and Tiziana, who has a degree in languages, takes care of the commercial side, communication and reception.

Vineyards

The property covers an area of 18 hectares, and almost all the vineyards belonging to the company are part of the great Vigne del Barolo of the municipality of La Morra. To these are added some vineyards in Serralunga d'Alba, in the hamlet of San Rocco Seno d'Elvio and Treiso

Wines

The wines produced reflect the Langa grape varieties: Barolo Capalot, Barolo Rocchettevino, Barolo Bricco San Biagio, Barolo Sorano, Barolo classico, Barbaresco, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo in two versions, Dolcetto d'Alba, the rare Verduno Pelaverga, Langhe Rosso and Vino Rosato.
