Bosco Pierangelo

Borgata Boiolo, 1 | La Morra CN | T. +39 0173.509531

History

Pietro Bosco, founder of the company, was born in 1898 in La Morra in the locality of Boiolo from Bosco Costanzo and Margherita. In 1948 he began to renew the vineyards affected by phylloxera, making innovative plantings for the time; some of them are still part of the company. He was succeeded in 1968 by his son Costanzo, who over the years bought the neighbouring lands, expanding the company to about 3 hectares of vineyards. In 1994 Pierangelo took over from his father and decided to restore the old farmhouse and plant new vineyards. The company was expanded to about 8 hectares of vineyards over the next 10 years. Pierangelo then began to vinify a small part of Nebbiolo, choosing the grapes with the best exposure and in 2004 Pierangelo reached an excellent level of quality that led him to decide to produce the first 2,500 bottles of Barolo Boiolo with their name on the label. Since that year the Bosco family has produced various wines, always in limited quantities but of very high quality: Barbera d'alba, Nebbiolo d'alba and from 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo.
