Marengo Mario

Reg. Serradenari 2/A La Morra CN | T. +39 0173.50115

History

The Marengo family has been making wine in La Morra for four generations, since the company was founded in 1899. An important role was played by Mario, father of the current owner Marco, who devoted himself with devotion to the activity of a small wine producer. Marco re-branded the winery by marketing internationally renowned Barolo and Nebbiolo wines in a more modern style. He fulfilled his father's dream of shipping their excellent Barolo overseas.

People

Marco, the current owner, has for many years been assisted in all stages of production by his wife Jenny, and for some time now his young son Stefano, born in 1996, the future of the Marengo winery, has also joined the company.

Vineyards

The vineyards, just over 4 hectares, are located in La Morra in the Fontanazza locality and in the prestigious Brunate, alle Pugnane in Castiglione Falletto, in Bricco delle Viole in Barolo and in Valmaggiore in the Roero.

Wines

All the typical wines of the Langhe are produced: classic Barolo, Bricco delle Viole and Brunate, of which in the best years the Riserva, Barbera Pugnane, Dolcetto d'Alba and Nebbiolo Valmaggiore are also released.
