Germano Angelo

Fraz. Annunziata, 24/A La Morra CN | T. +39 0173.50613

History

Documentary evidence of the presence of the Germano family in the winemaking tradition shows Teobaldo Germano as founder and first president of the Social Cellar of Barolo, founded in 1902 and closed in 1930. After the social winery was dissolved, Angelo Germano – Teobaldo’s grandson, founded the Germano Angelo cellar. When the cellar in the centre of Barolo became too small to house all the barrels and the equipment, the Germano family decided to transfer their production to La Morra, at Annunziata; in the 1970s they bought – from the bishops’ curia of Alba – the so called “bishop’s farmstead” that is located in locality San Martino.

People

Today Davide Germano and his sister – Viviana Germano, who takes care of the image of the company and supports the relations with abroad, work in the company. Davide has always had a technical soul and a sincere weakness for sophisticated equipment; he wants the best for his winery and for his vineyards, at the cost of making sacrifices and renunciations.

Vineyards

The estate vineyards are located in the communes of La Morra, Barolo and Monforte d’Alba

Wines

The company produces three types of Barolo, Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba, Vino Rosato, Dolcetto d’Alba, Grappa di Barolo, Langhe Chardonnay and a Barolo Chinato.
